The Mountain Regional Services Day Program is designed to meet the needs of a wide variety of persons with disabilities. MRSI provides services in such areas as communication, socialization, interpersonal relations, civic awareness, environment, health and safety, transportation, recreation, leisure, and community knowledge. The Personal, Social, and Community Support Services Department consists of various programs in which people with developmental disabilities are assisted with reaching their highest level of independence. Enhancing the personal and social development of each person served to increase their success at an occupation and with independent living remains our primary focus. Knowledge and skills related to appropriate behaviors, interacting with others, personal grooming, and personal and communication skills are another integral part of the Personal, Social, and Community Support Services Department at Mountain Regional Services, Inc.Basic Skills
MRSI provides services in basic communication, appropriate socialization, toileting, eating, mobility, recreation/leisure, community integration, positioning, and other areas of self-care. An innovative curriculum for each person served details eight domains or skill areas that each client works on daily to strengthen cognitive and motor skills.Senior Program
This program provides services to those who are of retirement age and wish to have a less taxing program for their golden years. Services are provided in such areas as socialization, communication, and interpersonal relations while taking part in activities such as lunch, crafts, games, and exercise at the community senior citizen's center as well as trips to other communities, socials at local establishments, fishing, etc..Eligibility
A person with a developmental disability or other disabling condition is eligible if he or she is: Able to benefit from services, able to purchase services either privately or through third-party sponsorship, willing to participate in programs. Behavioral issues will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.Functional Challenges Addressed
