At Mountain Regional Services, Inc. an
"Individualized Job Development" approach consists of the
following:
- Competitive Employment Specialist (CES) conducts a needs
survey to determine the type of business and hiring needs.
- CES notifies the Case Manager of the person served and
requests a Pre-Employment Meeting.
- Case Manager notifies team members (i.e. Psychologist,
Case Manager, Accounting Controller, Employment Specialist,
Program Services Director, and Guardian of the intended
meeting).
- The Pre-Employment Conference will determine if the person
served is ready for competitive employment placement.
- If the person served is ready for employment, the CES will
research employers and initiate contact with employers to find
a suitable job match as well as arrange for personal tour of
the job site with the person served.
- The Employment Specialist conducts a job interview with
the person served to establish a fit between the abilities of
the person served and the requirements of the job.
- The Employment Specialist orients new employee with the
job site and familiarizes the person served with the physical
setting and company staff and co-workers of the person served
to ensure job satisfaction.
- The CES continues Job-Coaching responsibilities with the
person served in new job site until he/she is satisfied that
adequate support has been given and maintained with person
served to ensure job success and continued
employment.
