Dr. Garcia-Prieto earned his Medical Doctor Degree
in the Evangelic University of El Salvador. He completed his internship
in psychiatry at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana. He
then moved to New York and finished his residency in psychiatry at
Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center which is a Cornell Affiliate
Hospital. He was elected resident of the year and also chief resident
during his last year of residency. In addition, Dr. Garcia-Prieto upon
his graduation as general psychiatrist moved to Boston, Massachusetts
where he completed his fellowship in Consultation and Liaison at the
Brigham and Women's Medical Center which is a Harvard Affiliate. During
his fellowship, Dr. Garcia-Prieto was elected by his peers and teachers
as primary fellow at the West-Roxbury VA Medical Center in Boston which
is also a Harvard Affiliate. Dr. Garcia-Prieto is a member of the
American Psychiatrist Association and the American Medical Association.
He is fluent in both English and Spanish. Dr. Garcia-Prieto has
extensive experience with the pharmacological treatment of adults,
seniors, and adolescents. He has special interest in behavior treatment
of dementia and psychosomatic medicine. Prior to joining Cornerstone
Behavioral Health, Dr. Garcia-Prieto worked at Southwest Counseling
Services in Rock Springs and also at the Wyoming Behavioral Institute in
Casper. In both work settings, he provided inpatient and outpatient
services. Dr. Garcia-Prieto has completed Part I of his Psychiatric
Board Examination and will be completing Part II in September
2007.
Peter P. Heinbecker, J.D.,

Dr.
Heinbecker received his medical degree from St. Louis University School
of Medicine and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He
has served as assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the
University of Utah, instructor at Southern Illinois University School of
Medicine and assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at St. Louis
School of Medicine.
Dr. Heinbecker has board certification from the American Board of
Forensic Psychiatry and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
He has licensure to practice medicine in Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. He
received the Recognition Award from the Governor of Utah, Norm
Bangerter, for service on the Utah Psychiatric Review Board from
1989-1992.
Dr. Heinbecker currently serves (or has served) on the medical staff
of the Utah State Hospital as director of forensic psychiatry; St.
John's Hospital, Jackson, WY; HCA St. Marks Hospital, Salt Lake City,
UT; Western Institute of Neuropsychiatry, Salt Lake City, UT; Charter
Summit Hospital, Salt Lake City, UT and Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake
City, UT. He served as a forensic consultant for the Wyoming State
Hospital during 1989, 1990 and 1991.
As a medical doctor and attorney, Dr. Heinbecker's appointment gives
MRSI the ability to service all psychiatric needs including
forensics.
