Supportive Services

Consumers enrolled in MRSI's programs enjoy a wide array of ancillary services that aid them in their quest to lead productive lives. Through their individual plans of care and needs assessments, consumer goals and objectives are carefully matched with the necessary supportive services to maximize their development. MRSI prides itself on quality supportive services employing only experienced professionals who are licensed or certified.

Case Management represents the link aspect of the entire supportive services program providing commnication between consumers and the various offerings. The Individually Selected Service Coordinator (ISC) process enables consumers to choose their own case manager twice a year. Consumers benefit from increased choice over who coordinates services and advocates for them as well as more control over the services they receive.

MRSI's Psychological and Psychiatric services may well be the most advanced programs in the region providing consumers with the therapy and medication monitoring necessary for continued personal advancement. Consumers benefit from licensed psychologists and board certified psychiatrists. Additionally, Registered Nurses provide around the clock service to consumers at day and residential locations.

Community Housing Services enable persons served to reside in attractive homes and individual apartments integrated throughout the city. Supervised and supported services ensure a healthy environment while providing for privacy, personal security and self-sufficiency. Life skills such as self-care, housekeeping, meal preparation, and utilization of community resources are developed on a daily basis. Independence is advanced through training in communication, self advocacy, financial management, and decision making.

MRSI's  Community Integration Services are individually tailored to meet the needs of each person served. As with all programs offered at MRSI, consumer choice is the primary consideration and personal growth the goal. Structured day programs span a broad range from sensory stimulation and communication for the most involved individuals to socialization and behavior management for those seeking greater independence. And a senior program is offered for older consumers seeking a more relaxed environment. MRSI promotes the use of assistive devices throughout our technology centers where persons served can surf the net, send E-mail, or use any number of specialized programs.

For consumers who desire employment, MRSI's Community Employment Services provide training, placement and support. An extensive network of potential employers has been developed to assure a variety of employment opportunities. All placements are in mainstream settings to maximize community integration.

In an effort to assist other service providers who may not have access to professional resources, MRSI offers a comprehensive Assessment Program. Persons with challenging issues are sent to MRSI for approximately one month of evaluation and testing by an interdisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses and other service specialists. An exit conference is held with the referring agency to report findings and offer solutions. Referring agencies may request permanent placement with MRSI if necessary.

MRSI's Supported Independent Living Program provides support to persons who are primarily independent, enabling them to maximize and maintain their independence and self-direction. Staff members are available as needed and are present on a planned, periodic basis to offer assistance and support, but not direct supervision, in the homes in which these persons live.

Mountain Regional Services, Inc. is one of a handful of providers throughout the state offering services to individuals with acquired brain injuries. ABI services include assessments, therapy, and day and residential programs.

Targeted Case Management is a Medicaid service administered by the Wyoming Division of Developmental Disabilities. It is designed to assist clinically and financially eligible individuals in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, and other services from the community. It also provides monitoring and follow-up, referrals, advocacy, and crisis intervention. TCM can assist people in locating and utilizing community programs and opportunities to meet their needs.

MRSI's Cheyenne branch offers a Brain Injury Program and Cognitive Retraining.  Services are delivered by Certified Brain Injury Specialists.
